Children:
As a parent, you want to make your child happy….but it’s not always easy.
Complementary therapies can help children with childhood problems they face throughout various ages. A child may encounter anxieties and worries that can seem trivial to an adult, but which are magnified to the child. A course of therapies can help to empower your child and discover that even though they are a child in a big, wide world that they cannot control, they can and do have some control in their own lives.
Complementary treatments can help children, like adults, to deal with physical, emotional, mental or spiritual issues they may currently be trying to deal with. As a child grows into a teenager there can be a confusion of hormones, body changes and thoughts that are difficult to adjust to, becoming aware they are no longer a child but not yet considered an adult. A complementary therapy treatment provides an opportunity to relax, talk about any issues to an adult who is not a
teacher or parent and balance their body for the changes that are taking place.
What treatment should I choose?
I always recommend that the child chooses their own treatment, as this gives the child control about a situation that is for their enjoyment. If they do have a specific condition, I may recommend a particular treatment and discuss it with you both, however the decision will be with you and your child.
Are you qualified?
Whilst being qualified to national standards, I have undertaken additional courses
in Aromatherapy for Babies and Children, and Reflexology and Children.
I am a member of the Guild of Infant and Child Massage and the Childrens’ Complementary
Therapy Network.
